LOTIC Group of Companies
At the heart of Western Province, Papua New Guinea (PNG), lies LOTIC Group of Companies – a symbol of resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment to community growth. Originating from the fervor of the local inhabitants, we are not just any trust fund or enterprise. We personify the aspirations of the Private Sector and the entire Western Province community, establishing ourselves as a beacon of regional pride.
Our journey began with an environmental mission. The Lower Ok Tedi villages, nestled along the pristine Alice River, united against environmental damages caused by mining. From this spirit of collective determination arose Lower OK Tedi Investment Company, our strategic umbrella company. It was created to represent the Lower OK Tedi villages and engage in business endeavors, chiefly associated with the dredging operations around Bige.
As LOTIC Group expanded its vision, LOTIC Bige Limited (LBL) was born. Established on 20th November 2009, LBL started its operational journey from 1st January 2012. Aided by consultations with Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) Economic Programs, LBL aimed at efficiently managing OTML personnel and contracts to meet the high expectations of OTML user departments. Within a short span, LBL grew exponentially, catering to both OTML Bige operations and other organizations, all while consistently showcasing its dedication, systematic approach, and adaptability to changing needs
Today, LBL proudly contracts over 500 professionals, both nationals and expatriates, along with a mix of professionals, semi-skilled and indigenous locals. Their expertise extends across diverse domains, from security and civil construction to IT services and camp management, among others. Moreover, LBL currently serves as the implementing partner for the Ok Tedi Development Fund's Rubber, Rice, and Eaglewood projects in the Western Province.
Our portfolio further expands. LOTIC Group's various arms extend into trading, placement, catering, logistics, construction, automotive, agriculture, and more. Our robust growth is evident, with a staggering 965% net asset growth over the past decade and a solid liquidity ratio, marking our stability and growth.
At our core, governance and leadership hold a pivotal role. Our Board of Directors, consisting of representatives from both the Yongom and Awin tribes, is a testament to our inclusive and balanced approach. Guided by our Chairman, Ketu Nuri, and Deputy Chairman, Alex Maun, we ensure that every decision we make is rooted in community interests and sustainable growth
The LOTIC Group's vision is clear: We are a company that grows alongside the community of the Western Province in PNG. Our ambitions are as vast as our lands, and with every new venture, we aim to echo the voice of our people and contribute positively to our province's tapestry. We invite partners, stakeholders, and the broader community to join us on this incredible journey. Let's write the future together.
